The work itself is fairly amateurish and uninspired, certainly nothing that could be considered art by virtue of the photography itself, but it is still work that I don't at all mind doing. A long-time friend of the family, a cute little old Polish woman who runs what used to be a video store, has since started selling pottery imported from Poland and it has taken over her business. Now she's down to just selling pottery and renting adult videos. Polish Porn N' Pottery, I say... However, her landlord is a bastard, rent and insurance is expensive as hell, and it's even more expensive importing anything from Poland, so she's uncertain as to whether or not she'll be able to afford keeping the place open in the future.
Her solution? Make a website, close the shop, and sell from home. Ambitious and risky, sure, but I'm fairly sure she knows what she's doing. The catch here is that the web designer won't type out all her inventory items and he certainly won't take pictures of the items themselves.
So that's where I come in.
Basically, I'm getting paid a modest $10.00 an hour (in cash, which is nice) to photograph her massive inventory of pottery, organize the pictures so they can be uploaded to the website, and probably to do the typing for the actual web listings. She figures it will take, at a minimum, 50 hours to finish the job. It may take more, considering that not only do I have to take the pictures, but I have to crop, resize, and organize everything, which takes a lot more time.
One way or another, I think it's pretty sweet that I'm now a professional photographer, albeit in a somewhat narrow, technical sense.
The pottery is actually fairly pretty, too. I may upload some pictures in the future...

Propel, propel, propel your craft
Carefully through the liquid solution
Ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically
Existence is simply illusion

More seriously though, I wouldn't at all mind doing a shoot with you. I think it would be fun!
